The vice-mayor in charge of social affairs, Colette Kayitesi, reminds that the woman is not a punching bag.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cA woman is not a punching bag for the training of boxers,\u201d says Colette Kayitesi, who is reacting to the complaint of Clementine Mukambarushimana.<\/p>\n<p>This lady, aged 30, lives on Uwimfizi village, Nyagisozi cell, Nyagisozi sector, Nyaruguru district. She has just accused her husband, Michel Mbyayingabo, of recurrent domestic violence and daily drunkenness.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEvery night, my husband comes home late at night, throws me out and hits me. One day I almost committed suicide. I ask him to promise in front of you that he won&#8217;t hit me anymore,\u201d says Clementine sobbing. As a result, Mbyayingabo acknowledges the facts and publicly asks for forgiveness.<\/p>\n<p>Vice mayor Kayitesi reminds this man of the value of a wife. \u201cThe role of a woman in his house is to revive the family and educate the children. You must stop hitting your wife or you will be severely punished. \u201cThe deputy mayor Kayitesi hammered.<\/p>\n<p>According to Maureen Murebwayire, head of the gender and family development department in Nyaruguru district, for the period 2019-2020, complaints related to domestic violence in the district, amount to 706,686.\u00a0 They were settled out of court and 29 resulted in divorce.
