{"id":433,"date":"2020-04-08T17:34:40","date_gmt":"2020-04-08T15:34:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lecanape.rw\/en\/?p=433"},"modified":"2020-04-08T18:05:03","modified_gmt":"2020-04-08T16:05:03","slug":"genocide-26-moussa-faki-embarks-on-genocide-ideology","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lecanape.rw\/en\/genocide-26-moussa-faki-embarks-on-genocide-ideology\/","title":{"rendered":"Genocide 26: Moussa Faki embarks against genocide ideology"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On the occasion of the commemoration of the genocide against theTutsi for the 26th time, the Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Moussa Faki Mabamat, called on African countries to redouble their efforts in the fight against the ideology of genocide.<\/p>\n<p>In a press release issued by the African Union Commission, Moussa Faki called on African countries to redouble their efforts in the fight against the ideology of genocide.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We must redouble our efforts to fight against the ideology of genocide, its denial and impunity. &#8220;He said. &#8220;This task should not be left to the Rwandan leaders and people alone. &#8220;He stressed.<\/p>\n<p>Moussa Faki goes further and asks for the commitment of everyone in Africa. &#8220;This task is the collective responsibility of the African Union, the Regional Economic Communities\/Regional Mechanisms and all Member States, Civil Society Organizations, Youth Organizations, Women&#8217;s Movement, Media and Universities. \u00bb<\/p>\n<p>Moussa Faki also returned to the fight against impunity. &#8220;The fight against impunity should also be at the heart of our collective efforts as member states of the African Union&#8230;by arresting, prosecuting or extraditing indicted fugitives. &#8220;He said.<\/p>\n<p>The Tutsi genocide lasted 100 days and claimed more than 1 million Tutsi victims. 26 years later, some alleged genocidaires have yet to be tried. They are all over the world. The African continent is home to the largest number of alleged genocidaires.
