Rwanda launched a food distribution campaign for vulnerable families. This initiative was taken following the containment of the population due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Last Saturday, 28 March, local governments distributed food to vulnerable families house by house. The task was entrusted to the committees in the villages closest to the population.
The Minister of Local Administration, Prof. Anastase Shyaka, has asked anyone wishing to show solidarity with the vulnerable population to approach these committees to give them their contribution.
The population of Kigali is made up of various categories. Some people live from day to day. As a result, they need food assistance in order to effectively comply with the confinement.
The Head of State, Paul Kagame, in his address to the nation the day before, had announced this gesture of solidarity on National Television. In return, he asked for strict respect of the confinement.
There are 60 people with covid-19, six of whom were registered this Saturday.
