A press release from the Ministry of Local Administration released on Thursday 04 June announces that the Kamembe, Nyakarenzo, Mururu and part of Gihundwa sectors of the City of Kamembe are in confinement for two weeks.
“The number of patients in Covid-19 is 12, initially 5, all of whom were cross-border traders. Then the number increased to 7, and now they are 12,” said the Secretary of State at the Ministry of Health in charge of Public Health and Primary Health Care, Dr. Tharcisse Mpunga.
“There is no established relationship between all the patients. This is proof that Covid-19 is found in the population,” he added. The Ministry of Health has deployed medical staff to reinforce the local team and a Covid-19 treatment centre has been set up.
According to the Minister of Local Government, Prof. Anastase Shyaka, “All public and private sector workers must work at home, except those providing necessary services. Markets, shops, hairdressing salons, garages, house building sites, boat building sites are closed. »
He adds that “Restaurants and hotels are allowed to operate with a minimum number of employees. They can prepare meals to be eaten at home. »
“Unnecessary travel and leaving the house without important reason is prohibited. Fishing and swimming in Lake Kivu are also prohibited,” he said.
