Cyclist Moise Mugisha has won the Grand Prix Chantal Biya cycling competition on Sunday, November 22nd, 2020 after five stages without giving up the yellow jersey once.
A gamble that paid off. Moise Mugisha wore the yellow jersey from the beginning of the competition until the end. His victory was expected all day long on Sunday after having won the yellow jersey for four successive days.
In addition, the Rwandan team composed of Moise Mugisha, Samuel Mugisha, Didier Munyaneza, Joseph Areruya, Patrick Byukusenge and Renus Uhiriwe Byiza was ranked best team. “Our mission, as entrusted to us by the President of the Rwandan Cycling Federation, has been accomplished,” said Patrick Byukusenge, captain of the team that went to Cameroon. “We participated as a team and we won,” he revealed.

CRTV Sports television commentators repeated time and again during the last stage that Rwanda had presented the best team. The whole team contributed to Moise Mugisha’s victory. It should be noted that Samuel Mugisha, for example, never strayed from his teammate Moise during all the stages.
This young Rwandan cyclist, only 22 years old, has won other prizes such as best young rider and best climber.
