All travelers to Rwanda should be prepared to be tested for covid-19 upon landing in Kigali. It will serve as a confirmatory test on their health status.
The planes will resume their flights as of this Saturday, 01 August 2020. Rwanda has taken preventive measures to avoid the spread of the coronavirus in the country.
“All travelers arriving in Rwanda must have tested negative for covid-19 three days before departure,” said the instructions from the Rwanda Biomedical Centre (RBC). “Upon arrival, they will undergo a second test to confirm the negative results of the first pre-arrival test,” said RBC.
“Awaiting results will be mandatory at a special hotel rate for 24 hours,” added RBC.
Upon receipt of the results, healthy people will be able to leave or stay at the hotel if they wish, but will have to pay for the services at the usual rates. Those who test positive will be taken to a treatment centre for treatment at their own expense.
It should be noted that Rwandans wishing to leave the country will also have to undergo a covid-19 test three days before their departure. “A certificate stating that the carrier is healthy will be required at Kigali International Airport,” said RBC.
Coronavirus tests will be paid 50 US dollars or 47,200frws. This allows anyone to benefit from this service.
Until now, the government had taken charge of all the operations organized against the coronavirus. Including tests, treatment and hospitalization.
