The Prime Minister of the French Republic, Edouard Philippe, just resigned his government this morning. The Head of State, Emmanuel Macron, has accepted it and must form another government.
A press release from the Elysée, the Presidency of the French Republic, announced on the morning of Friday, July 3, the resignation of the government presented by Prime Minister Edouard Philippe.
“Mr. Edouard Philippe today handed the resignation of the government to the President of the Republic, who accepted it,” reads a press release from the press service. “He and the members of the government are in charge of current affairs,” he added.
It is not without pain that the two men separated. The Head of State, Emmanuel Macron, does not hide his appreciation of the work done together. “What we have managed to do together for three years, with a lot of trust and coordination, is unprecedented, contrary to what has been written,” said President Macron.

Differences arose during discussions on the path to be followed during the period of the end of the five-year term, according to Le Figaro. The two statesmen agreed to separate. Edouard is due to leave with his entire team. President Macron must form a new government.
