The Forest of Hope Association (FHA) announced on this first day of December, the opening of the Guest House and Campground in the Gishwati sector of the Park. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore this UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.
Tourists staying at the guest house and campsite will be able to explore the Gishwati sector of the Gishwati-Mukura National Park.
“I encourage everyone to visit the unique Gishwati-Mukura National Park, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, for unforgettable trekking experiences with primates and much more,” said Belise Kariza, Director of Tourism at the Rwanda Development Board (RDB).
According to Thierry Aimable Inzirayineza, FHA coordinator, they are collaborating with Wilderness Safaris in the field of conservation and community development. They focus on chimpanzee monitoring and community education.

During their stay, tourists will be able to admire and monitor some of the world’s last remaining chimpanzees, golden monkeys as well as mountain monkeys in their natural habitat.
There are also opportunities for bird watching and authentic cultural and community exchanges.
As part of the park’s reforestation efforts, guests will be able to visit the FHA nursery and plant a tree.
Rwanda seeks to increase the share of tourism in the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) by $800 million by 2024.
