The Council of Ministers on Tuesday 16 June authorised the resumption of religious marriage, but worship in different churches and mosques will be back on the table in 15 days.
Now young people wishing to found their own homes, in addition to civil marriage, may also be entitled to religious marriage. However, the number of participants should not exceed 30.
“Even if the number is still very limited, it is a good decision because Rwandans are mostly Christians. Many found it inconceivable to begin life as a couple without receiving God’s blessing in their respective churches,” said one young man preparing to marry.
In the same vein, funeral ceremonies in churches are also permitted for a small group of 30 people.
The question of the resumption of worship in the various churches and mosques will be discussed in 15 days. The churches will need to continue to make preparations for this.
Hotel activities now extend to hosting meetings while respecting the instructions in force to avoid the spread of the coronavirus.
The combination of all these measures opens the door to the event business. Families will gradually find the financial means to survive.
The resumption of tourism activities
One of the major decisions of the latter Council of Ministers is the gradual resumption of tourism activities.
“Domestic and international tourism for people on charter flights, either individually or organized in groups are allowed,” the executive decided. “Hotels are encouraged to play a role in domestic tourism,” adds the executive on this point.
This decision opens another door of business closed since the confinement: the tourism industry. Vehicle rentals for tourists and artistic products will find customers. More families will be able to come out of lockdown and finally smile.
