The Regina Pacis and Notre Dame reception centers have just been upgraded to two-star hotels. This classification will go hand in hand with the improvement of the quality of service.
The new classification of the Regina Pacis and Notre Dame Reception Centers, both in Kibeho, will improve the services provided to clients.
“The classification of these reception facilities will not only improve the quality of service but also increase the number of clients who will be more confident in the service available,” said the mayor of Nyaruguru, Janvier Gashema.
According to Sister Marie Hyacinthe Musabimana, manager of the Regina Pacis hotel, the classification of these hotels was preceded by an inspection by the Rwanda Development Board (RDB). “They organized an inspection visit to check the quality of services provided to our clients, then they made an evaluation and classified our reception centers as two-star hotels,” reveals Sister Hyacinthe.

The Notre Dame Hotel also vows to improve the quality of service. “We will introduce other services to meet the needs of the guests, but we will need a bigger plot,” says Emmanuel Rwanya, who is in charge of the management of the Notre Dame Hotel.
Lots of investment opportunities
For the mayor of Nyaruguru, Janvier Gashema, the number of hotels is still low. “We would like the number of hotels to rise to three, four or even five,” says this political authority.

“The private sector should seize this opportunity and come to Kibeho to invest in hotels. We have only 136 rooms at the moment when we can receive more than 500,000 people a year,” he warned the capital owners.
“We are asking investors to improve the quality of accommodation services, hotel services in general, this will on the one hand maintain the attractiveness of Kibeho for tourists and on the other hand there will be no lack of profit because the market is there,” says Mayor Gashema.
Sister Hyacinthe of Regina Pacis recalls that for the moment, rooms, a restaurant and a meeting room are available for guests. However, she shows that the ambition is to create other services on this holy and still unpolluted land.

“We want to go from two stars, to three, four, five stars,” she says. “We want to improve the quality of services by building more rooms, halls, a bar where several kinds of drinks will be sold. And in Kibeho, we want to build a swimming pool,” she says. “And for people who don’t prefer Rwandan cuisine, we will build flats where they can prepare food to their taste,” she says.
