President Paul Kagame and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau had a conversation on the importance of global cooperation to end the coronavirus pandemic on Wednesday, March 25, 2020.
On his Twitter account, the Rwandan Head of State, Paul Kagame, informed the public that he had had a conversation with the Canadian Prime Minister.
“I just had a very good and fruitful conversation with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau about the importance of decisive national health action and global cooperation to end the Coronavirus pandemic. “The message also included specific measures to address the ongoing overwhelming effects of the pandemic.
The coronavirus became a global pandemic only three months after its emergence in China. Everywhere it goes, the economy is being hit hard. And very few countries are spared at the moment.
Everyone fears a global recession. “It’s unrealistic to think that GDP, which is plagued by the coronavirus, will bounce back quickly. The global economy will suffer for years to come. “Warns Angel Gurria, Secretary-General of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).
“Even if we don’t have a global recession, we’re going to have zero or negative growth in many economies, including the largest, so it’s going to take a lot longer to get back on track. “Explains Mr. Gurria.
Most countries are entering into containment or tightening of measures. This is crippling activity around the world to make the economic shock more severe than it was after 9/11 or the financial crisis of 2008.
