Kicukiro and Nyarugenge have been partially in containment since the evening of June 25. The populations of six villages in the city of Kigali have to stay at home for 15 days.
The populations of the villages of Zuba, Nyenyeri, Rugano and Kamabuye in Kicukiro District are returning to the 15-day confinement. Gisenga and Kadobogo in Nyarugenge district are in the same situation.
Apart from the usual outbreaks of covid-19, Rusumo in the South and Rusizi in the West, Kigali is also confirmed.
For about a week now, every day, new cases of covid-19 have been registered in Kigali City.
On 25 June, of the 20 cases tested positive, four were from Kigali. The day before, on 24 June, out of 32 new cases, three are from Kigali. The day before, on 23 June, out of 11 cases tested positive, one was found in Kigali. On 22 June, out of 59 new cases, seven are in Kigali. On 21 June, out of 26 new positive cases, six were found in Kigali.
Other districts such as Nyagatare in the East (one case on 24 June), Nyamasheke in the West (four cases on 22 June) and Rubavu (three cases on 22 June) could become outbreaks and be placed under quarantine.
Covid-19 reappears in Kigali after release from containment. This decision allowed the resumption of public transport from the capital Kigali to the other provinces of the country. Motorcycle taxis also operate as before covid-19.
Various analysts of the global health situation due to covid-19 advise people to learn to live with it. This means protecting themselves to avoid a constant spread of the coronavirus.
Defeating this virus without a vaccine still seems hypothetical without following the current instructions for prevention. All that is needed is frequent hand washing, social distancing and wearing a surgical mask in public.
