The “Women of Expertise 2021” competition has just ranked Ms. Laetitia Mugabo of Isango Star as the 3rd African winner. She comes after an Ivorian and a Senegalese.
Co-founder of the radio and television Isango Star, Marie Laetitia Gatesi Mugabo comes from Brest, France. She was awarded the 3rd prize in the “Femmes d’ Expertise 2021” competition.
“It was wonderful for me, for the country and for all Rwandan women,” she says. “We started with 20 women, we voted and I was ranked third. When you have worked hard, it’s good to be rewarded,” she says. The winner is Kelly Grace Saboyombo, an Ivorian. The second is SCHIPHRA Nsa, a Senegalese national.
The women of expertise are women entrepreneurs who are business leaders. “They have skills. They are strong women, fighters, who know what to do, trained by the “Femmes d’Expertise” de France team,” says this lady who runs a media company.
Today, Ms. Laetitia Mugabo is the Deputy Director General of Radio and Television Isango Star.
For Laetitia Mugabo, being elected “Femme d’Expertise” is an encouragement to go further.”For my future, it means that I must continue, I am motivated, I must be a strong and exemplary woman, a woman who has the experience, who has the capacity to do many things,” she says without ambiguity.
After a training session in Brest in early October on “How to overcome difficulties and succeed in business,” Ms. Laetitia wants to raise some Rwandan women to the level of entrepreneurs.
“I need to organize training. There are women who have skills, knowledge but don’t know how to start. We have to approach them and help them to bring out the emotions that are inside them, initiatives, … today it is not only men who carry out projects. We women are also capable of doing many things,” she justifies her project.
“Femmes d’Expertise” is a support structure based in France. It acts internationally, and is the founder of the “World Summit of Women of Expertise”. (SM-FEEX).
From 7 to 11 December 2021, the first edition of the World Summit of Women of Expertise will be organized in Moroni, Comoros.
